Proprietor's Speech

On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff, Students, and the entire community of Havard Wilson College of Education Aba, we heartily welcome you all. The years have run so fast and is fascinating, that we are about concluding our first decade in the Higher Institution Industry, which industry we joined exactly a decade after running a flourishing, pre Nursery/Nursery/Primary/Secondary Institution.

The Education Industry is key to the prosperity of a nation's economy, increase of the quality of the citizens' lives, and generally, the direction mover to the Nations growth. We are therefore proud to belong to the Education Industry in Nigeria, while looking forward to being in the dynamo that will lift the nation to top competitive level in the International Economy.

WELCOME SPEECH

May I respectfully welcome you all, the fresh students who are today being admitted into this great institution should exercise caution as they celebrate their admission. This is because they are expected to exhibit high sense of hard work and dedication to their studies, as we keep to the laws relating to the areas of life and conduct in school including discipline, dressing and other matters. All offenses are punishable including cult activity.

Welcome speech by the Vice Chancellor

Our university on November 1, 2018 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Havard Wilson College of Education, Aba, after a rigorous verification exercise. We were impressed with what we saw; hence, we granted them affiliation without hesitation. Apart from the quality personnel we met, it is also gladdening that to the College has all the necessary approval by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and the Federal Government to function.

As our affiliate, the College is an essential extension of our University, and therefore must be administered like its parent body, respecting all the laws and guidelines establishing our University.

Our major role today is to formally admit all those who have duly scaled the hurdles of a competitive selection to become bona-fide students of both our affiliate and the parent institution. Let me at this point congratulate you all for passing the necessary examinations that qualified you to be here.

We will continue to provide closely monitored supervision of the operations of the College to ensure that the quality of education here is compared with that at the parent institution, and that you are not short changed. While assuring high quality education, we will insist on, hard work and absolute obedience to rules and regulations of the College, as culprits will be dealt with according to the law.

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, by the power vested on me by the senate of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education as the Vice Chancellor, I officially admit you all as the Degree Students of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Port- Harcourt.

Before ending this address, let me specially thank the Director, Provost and the Governing Council of Havard Wilson College of Education for working with us. I also commend them for abiding strictly by the Memorandum of Understanding which we signed with them. My gratitude also goes to my Officers that accompanied me to this ceremony, parents, friends, well-wishers and other guests who found time to grace this occasion.
